First, what does ADHD stand for? Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. And real life with these people is far different from the title. Mr. B is a very attentive individual, when his interest is engaged. Mr. B was very active as a child, always ready to go as a teen & young adult. As he aged, he slowed down. Disorder? NO, there is nothing wrong with the ADHD person, they simply process information in a different way. I find they tend to be highly creative people. To live this life successfully they employ tricks, hacks, and workarounds. They work out their own patterns to get to work on time, for example.

I have a sign in my kitchen. It makes me laugh out loud for some reason. It’s not a very funny saying, in fact, if I pause to think about it, it’s quiet a thought provoking one. The sign simply reads

“Crazy doesn’t run in my family,

it gallops

And that pretty much sums up my home life. Crazy, everywhere I look, but that’s life with ADHD. I will tell you to stop reading right here “X” if you don’t want to read about life with ADHD. That is all I know. That is all I can talk about with authority. If I start talking about anything else, it’s fake, it’s unreal. I don’t know what home life looks like without ADHD. This is what’s in my viewfinder. If it’s in yours too, read on. This is your jam as it is mine.

Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit within me.

~ Psalms 51:10

Living with an ADHD spouse and/or child begins & ends with forgiveness. Psalms 51:10 is a very good motto.
