Generally speaking, what breathes life back into my introvert heart is whatever I am in need of at that time. A quiet hour to myself, a good book to read, a day with my husband doting on me. This time it was a clean body!
My Anchor Win
My “Anchor Win” this week was finally reclaiming my peace (and my hygiene!). After a long-awaited sleepover with my three sisters—the youngest of the quartet survived, though barely—I returned home Monday night with my introvert batteries in the negative.
I spent two days in a total fog, and by Thursday, I didn’t even wake up until the morning was down to its last nib! Since 10:30 AM is basically lunchtime, we just leaned into it. But the real turnaround started Thursday evening. I said to my husband, “I’m getting that bath I missed two days ago,” and plunged into pure bliss, quiet bliss. I am still soaking in the loveliness of that moment.
The next evening, I washed my hair. Between the soak and the fresh hair, I feel like I’ve finally washed away the exhaustion and stepped back into my right mind. I may have been two days late to the tub, but thanks to Avon, I at least didn’t smell like I’d gotten lost in the Everglades!
Faith Check
The faithfulness of God is a very real thing. Exodus 14:14 says: “The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Even when I am exhausted, in great need of quiet to digest all the talking, the LORD is there for me, defending me, loving me, caring for me. And he will provide the quiet needed to restore my strength. This can be true for you also; you only need to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.
What I learned
The best way to recover from a negative balance in my introvert soul is self-care. Before I can give more to others, slowing down to fill my cup is a Must! Be it a good book, a doting husband, a quiet morning or that delish warm bath, taking care of me is what’s in order.
What I’m letting go of tomorrow
I’m letting go of the “productivity” yardstick. For a few days there, I felt behind on everything—the errands, the house, even my own self-care. I don’t measure my value by the hour I wake up. If the Lord provides “fresh mercy” every morning, He certainly doesn’t stop providing it just because I didn’t see the sunrise until 10:30 AM! And I believe that a quiet afternoon and a hot bath are just as necessary as a busy to-do list.
The Avon I Use:
Of course, a proper recovery requires the “good stuff,” so I reached for my Skin So Soft Pure Nature Shower Gel There’s just something about this, low foam, creamy, and moisturizing shower gel that makes the world’s noise go quiet.

For the best hair restoration I reach for CBD shampoo for my scalp, and Avon Purple for my Grey. Unfortunately, these products are not available right now. But you can get my follow up! Organist Rice Water Moisture Replenish Hair is a sultry floral scented leave-in conditioner. It separates as it sits, but one quick shake and it’s ready to spritz. It does a great job calming my grey hair down.
